Meet Dr. Kermit Ryff
Many people ask me why I started an all-inclusive animal hospital in the mountains? The truth is, I love animals, and I would do anything for any one of them. Whether your pet has torn their ACL or your horse needs to see an equine veterinarian, I love being the mobile vet that you can count on.
Growing up, my father was a vet and my mother was a biologist, so I was just born with an innate love for the animals. I obtained my education from the University of Wyoming, graduating with a degree in Microbiology in 1974, and I continued on to get my DVM from Colorado State University in 1979. As a member of the Phi-Zeta honor society, I believe in doing all I can to give back to my community. Currently, I am a licensed veterinarian in Colorado, Texas, Hawaii, and have practiced in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Arizona.
“With more than 37 years of experience, I have always had a deep love for animals. I genuinely love what I do and I wouldn’t trade my profession for anything; being able to help critters in need is my true passion.”
I work all hours and offer ranch visits as a mobile vet because there is no greater feeling than being able to help. No matter the size of your special critter, I cherish your pet as if it was my own; from simple checkups to the most intense large animal vet procedures, your pet is always my number one concern.
For those that can bring their pet to Mountain Shadows Animal Hospital’s physical location in Salida, they find that it is not just a place you go when your pet is sick; it is your pet’s home away from home. Our goal is to provide your family with the comfort to know that no matter what is going on, you know a vet you can trust. My wife, Kassi Ryff, and two children welcome you into our family as we get to know you, your pet, and your needs.
